Nothing looks better in a pair of shorts or under a flirty skirt than a pair of beautiful and sexy legs. So many of my female clients tried various ways to tone their legs and a lot of them have complained about how difficult it is and how long it seems to take to do so. If you happen to be one of these women, have you ever considered adding stair climbing to your workouts?
Stair climbing is one of those workouts that have gained a great deal of popularity over the past few years and can give great results in a shorter amount of time compared to other workouts out there. Because one’s center of mass is lifted vertically, your body weight has no support whatsoever and this is why you are required to exert more effort, thus burning more calories.
There are stair climbing machines that you can use for your workouts and they can simulate the experience of climbing stairs in the convenience of your gym or your home. Some look similar to an escalator, creating a motorized movement of the steps and replicating that stair climbing motion. There are those that are composed of a platform for each foot that you step on and while one platform goes down, the other platform goes up, and so forth. These simpler machines are called steppers but can still provide you with great workouts.
Of course, you can easily get your stair climbing workouts done without even having to purchase a machine. I’m all about no excuses. You can use the flight of stairs in your home or stairwells in taller buildings. So you can save money and kick your own ass at the same time, how awesome huh? You never have to compromise your need for exercise and since finding a flight of stairs is not that difficult, you will have no excuse to not get your workouts out of the way regardless of where you happen to be. As a matter of fact, athletes do it quite often. It’s staple in their workouts. Have you ever noticed football players who are told by their coach to run up and down the bleachers? Not saying you should work out like a football player or look like a football player (not very feminine I know), but why not reap the benefits of these kind of workouts? Doing some is part of their training and just one of their many workouts and they make do with what they have.
Let’s just set this straight. I absolutely HATE the workout…haha yes, I hate stair climbing BUT it is ‘fantabulous’ for your legs and your toosh and is so worth the agony I feel when I do it. I’m sorry, but I don’t sugar coat anything. It is nothing but absolute torture but your soon to be sexy legs will love you for it. Stair climbing is an intense workout to get great muscles and sometimes we need to up the intensity to reach our weight loss and fitness goals.
The key is to either set yourself a goal of completing a certain amount of climbs or maybe even climb for a certain period of time or you can listen to music in the background and rock out while you climb. Makes the workout that much more bearable!! And if you actually enjoy stair climbing, well then you are a Fit Fem Super Star!
